Laminates aren’t just a cost-effective alternative to wood, stone, or tile; in some ways, they’re more desirable. They’re extremely stain-, scratch-, and impact-resistant. Laminate flooring requires no waxing or polishing to preserve even high-gloss finishes. Replacing laminate floor planks is also much easier, especially if installed without the use of glue or grout.
Laminates install over any floor or subfloor, including heated concrete. Unlike some vinyl flooring, laminates do not fade from exposure to sunlight. However, they do last the longest where water does not pool or collect, as it might in basements and bathrooms or on shop floors.
